Vitrifigo is an Italian manufacturing corporation that originally specialized in mini bars for the furnishing industry when it was founded in Alceste Vitri in 1978. In 1985, however, they introduced their own line of refrigerators and freezers for use in the nautical and transport sectors, along with a new type of absorption mini bars in hotels. Vitrifigo had the advantage of researching and building their products in house, saving them costs and allowing them to further research and develop the most cutting edge technologies for the refrigeration units. They even moved into the portable market, designing the first quality refrigerators for campers and caravans. They have been leading the way for the the rest of the world on the refrigeration scene by constantly improving standard technology to become the new standard and by incorporating in America.

Vitrifigo offers three different models of ice machine. Two of these require a 220V power source, such as a stove or washer/dryer, so they will need to be professionally installed. These ice makers are extremely capable and powerful, though, able to produce and store 25 pounds of ice per day.

The Vitrifigo IM Classic Hydro requires a 220V power source and a permanent water and drain line. It features an extremely simple and open ended design. When you open the door, all you see is an enormous ice tray, and the actual ice maker that dumps the ice, perfect for a big scooper in large applications. The IM Classic Hydro can be built in or free standing, as its vented in the front, and sports a clean, simple stainless steel and black color scheme, but is also available in white or black.

The Vitrifigo IM Classic Refill is identical to the IM Classic Hydro, but it provides the convenience of a refillable water tray as opposed to being permanently hooked up to a water and drain line. It is also front vented and available in white or black. This makes it more accessible to non-commercial users and loosens the space requirements of the ice maker because it can go wherever a the power source lies.

Finally, the Vitrifigo IM Hydro XT has the same ice production as the IM Refill and IM Hydro, but is shorter and deeper in design for lower countertops. Again, the Hydro XT is available in white and black to give you more style choices, and produces and stores 25 pounds of ice per day. These ice makers are mostly for small commercial applications, but could be installed in the home should your need for ice be great.
